Contract
1) Draft, prepare, comment on, review, negotiate, and finalise offer letters and tenancy agreements for the retail property portfolio.
2)Draft, prepare, comment on, review, negotiate, and finalise letters of award for the appointment of contractors, engineers, architects, and related parties.
3)Draft, prepare, comment on, review, negotiate, and finalise service agreements for the appointment of vendors, suppliers, and service providers.
4)Assist with contractual queries from the Leasing and/or Operations teams, including contract review, legal research, risk assessments, risk mitigation, and preparation of legal advice and reports.
5)Provide practical and efficient legal advice, comments, and suggestions regarding contractual risk management.
6)Develop and implement the contract management process, including contract workflow, stakeholder guidelines, and templates.
7)Attend monthly management meetings.

Litigation
8)Manage and handle pre-litigation legal disputes and enquiries from the Leasing and/or Operations teams.
9)Monitor the progress of litigation cases and oversee all aspects from inception through resolution.
10)Manage the engagement of external lawyers, oversee the quality of their work, and ensure effective delivery of legal support.
11) Comment on, review, and finalise pleadings (e.g., writs, statements of claim, statements of defence, affidavits, notices of application, witness statements, written submissions).
12)Liaise with and manage witnesses for trials.
13)Update records and progress of all litigation cases.

Compliance
14)Draft, prepare, comment on, review, and finalise compliance policies.
15)Identify and analyse compliance risks and implement measures to monitor and mitigate them.
16) Develop and continuously review the regulatory and compliance processes, standards, and controls to ensure they meet current statutory and regulatory requirements.
17) Design, conduct, and deliver training on compliance topics.

Miscellaneous
18)Supervise, mentor, and develop junior counsel, including reviewing work products, providing guidance on legal and compliance matters, and ensuring quality standards are maintained across all deliverables.
19)Undertake ad hoc assignments and special projects relating to legal, compliance, and regulatory matters as directed by the Head of Department and Senior Management.
1) At least 4 to 7 years of relevant working experience.
2) Minimum of a second-class upper division in a Bachelor of Laws degree. Candidates with a second-class lower division from the University of London International Programme may be considered.
3) A first-class honours degree with outstanding academic results are advantageous.
4) Admission to the UK and/or Malaysian Bar is preferred but not mandatory.
5) Candidates with substantial experience from a corporate practice background (e.g., mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, venture capital, private equity, project and energy, or capital markets) will be given preference.
6) Candidates with solely litigation, banking, or conveyancing experience may not be considered.
7) Non-admitted candidates must possess substantial in-house legal experience with a proven track record in drafting, negotiating, and managing complex commercial contracts.
