About the Role
You will be part of a globally connected legal function providing legal support on technology-related matters. The role is situated within a matrix structure, aligned by region and subject matter, and focuses on legal areas such as technology contracts, telecommunications, digitalisation initiatives, and e-commerce.

Legal Advice & Services
-Provide subject matter legal advice on technology, cybersecurity, and data protection issues affecting operations in the APAC region
-Deliver practical and strategic legal support to business units and IT/GBS teams
-Draft, review, and negotiate complex technology agreements (SaaS, software/hardware, outsourcing, telecom)
-Monitor and advise on regulatory trends and legal developments across jurisdictions
-Contribute to legal risk management and manage legal spend in your area of responsibility

Stakeholder Engagement
-Lead and support negotiations with customers, vendors, and service providers
-Work with external counsel on litigation and disputes as necessary
-Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to align legal support with business goals
-Team Collaboration & Development
-Be an active member of the global Legal Services community
-Share know-how and participate in legal team meetings, training, and development
-Support cross-border legal needs and provide assistance across business units as required
-Admitted to the Malaysian Bar; additional admission in other jurisdictions is advantageous
-Certifications in data protection, cybersecurity, or AI (e.g. EXIN, CIPP/E, CIPP/A, CIPM, AIGP) are preferred
-8to15 years post-qualification experience (PQE), ideally with in-house legal experience in the tech sector or at a top-tier law firm
-Deep knowledge of technology law including AI, data protection, cybersecurity, and IT contracting
-Experience with commercial, employment, and dispute matters is beneficial
-Strong ability to work independently and manage multiple regional stakeholders
