Position Summary: Our client is seeking a seasoned Legal Counsel to join their dynamic team in the insurance industry. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of post-qualified experience (PQE) in legal practice, with a strong focus on insurance law, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance.

Key Responsibilities:
Legal Advisory:
-Provide expert legal advice and support to various business units on insurance-related matters, including policy interpretation, claims, underwriting, and product development.
-Advise on contractual matters, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements.

Regulatory Compliance:
-Ensure the company's compliance with local insurance regulations, laws, and industry standards.
-Monitor changes in legislation and regulatory environment, assess impacts, and implement necessary adjustments to company policies and procedures.
-Liaise with regulatory authorities and manage regulatory filings and reporting.

Corporate Governance:
-Support corporate governance initiatives, including board meetings, corporate resolutions, and maintaining corporate records.
-Advise on corporate structure, mergers and acquisitions, and other strategic transactions.

Risk Management:
-Identify, assess, and manage legal risks associated with the company's operations and business activities.
-Develop and implement strategies to mitigate legal risks and ensure the protection of the company's interests.
Dispute Resolution:
-Manage and resolve disputes, including litigation, arbitration, and mediation.
-Coordinate with external legal counsel as necessary and oversee the progress and outcomes of legal proceedings.

Key Requirements
-Bachelor's degree in Law from a reputable university; a Master's degree or other relevant qualifications is an advantage.
-The ideal candidate for this position should have at least 7 years of post-qualification experience in the financial regulatory practice at a reputable law firm, or in a financial institution handling regulatory matters such as insurance regulation, etc.
-Admitted to practice law in Indonesia.
-In-depth knowledge of Indonesian insurance regulations and industry practices.
-The candidate must speak fluent English (both written and spoken), enjoy working in a fast-paced high-intensity environment, show excellent legal and commercial judgment, be a good team player and be highly efficient and hardworking.
-Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
