Our client is a Chinese MNC, seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Employment Lawyer to join their regional legal team. This role will involve supporting their HR team and business units on employment law matters across various APAC jurisdictions. While extensive knowledge of all APAC employment laws is not required, the successful candidate will work closely with and be supported by their external local counsels.

Key Responsibilities:

Advising on Employment Law:
-Provide guidance to the HR team on employment law matters across different APAC jurisdictions.
-Assist in interpreting and applying employment laws to various HR policies and procedures.

Document Review and Preparation:
-Review and prepare employment-related documents, including contracts, policies, and handbooks.
-Ensure that all employment documentation complies with relevant local laws and regulations.

Risk Assessment and Management:
-Advise the business on potential risks and exposures from an employment law perspective.
-Assist in developing strategies to mitigate legal risks associated with employment matters.

Policy Development and Implementation:
-Support the development and implementation of regional employment policies and practices.
-Ensure that policies are aligned with local laws and best practices.

External Counsel Coordination:
-Collaborate with external local counsels to obtain jurisdiction-specific legal advice.
-Coordinate with external counsels to address complex employment law issues and ensure compliance.

Legal Research and Analysis:
-Conduct legal research on employment laws and regulations in various APAC jurisdictions.
-Stay updated on changes in employment legislation and advise the HR team accordingly.

Requirements
1) Law degree (LLB or equivalent) from a recognized institution, and called to the Malaysian Bar.
2) 1-3 years of experience in employment law, ideally within a law firm environment
3)Strong understanding of employment law principles and practices.
4)Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
5) Fluency in English and Mandarin, both spoken and written.



This position is only open to Malaysian citizens.
