In this business critical role, the counsel is responsible for delivering strategic advice, managing legal risks and supporting stakeholders primarily in respect of:

1. Dispute resolution:
- Managing disputes in Malaysia and in the region including settlement negotiations, court litigation, mediation and arbitration.
- Managing regulatory and governance issues together with relevant stakeholders.
- Managing investigations/pre-dispute assessments

2. Stockbroking
- Review of legal documentation
- Render sound, effective and practical legal solutions and advice to stakeholders
- Draft, review and negotiate documents and agreements.
- Provide legal support in the development of new products and offerings within Malaysia and other jurisdictions where the Bank is present.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders and external counsel.
- To identify issues and legal risks and provide proactive solutions
- Keep abreast of legislative and regulatory changes affecting the Bank's operations

- Degree in law and a qualified advocate and solicitor in Malaysia.
- A minimum of 7 solid years in dispute resolution practice or with in-house experience in handling disputes, preferably with banking & finance, securities law, capital markets, bankruptcy & insolvency and general corporate & commercial disputes experience. Candidates with stockbroking and technology/digital banking have added advantage.
