Their Malaysian office is looking for a senior corporate lawyer to join their legal team.

- Provide legal support and advise the development, operation and retail businesses.

- Draft and negotiate bespoke contracts and documentation - such as transactional documentation (e.g. sale and purchase agreement, joint venture/shareholders' agreement, financing documentations etc as well as NDAs, MOUs, fund documentation).

- Ensure compliance with regional procedures and policies.

- Manage & coordinate legal aspects and activities (e.g. trade, commercial matters, foreign transactions, technology transfer, labour and corporate issues) and communicate organisational policies and legal updates to ensure operations comply with established organisational policies and legal requirements, rules, regulations and laws.

- Manage the analysis, review, research and evaluation of legal documents/tenders and requirements to provide solutions for legal problems and potential risks and develop and implement alternative solutions.

- Manage the production, analysis, interpretation and update of legal and risk's policies, procedures and databases and manage the production, review and provision of legal documents and reports (e.g. contract, letter of agreements) to track legal issues, recommend corrective actions and maintain timely information in compliance with requirements of governmental agencies, laws, statutes, rules and regulations.

- Maintain internal and external relationships which may include contracted external consultants and may extend to representing the company at litigation and other proceedings and provide mentoring, coaching and support to team members and promote understanding of legal rights, obligations and privileges to ensure that team members are adequately resourced to perform.

- Support the initiatives undertaken by the legal department such as contribution to legal training materials; updating legal document templates.

- Assist in the updating, reporting, roll out and oversight of the anti-bribery compliance program for the Malaysian entities.
- Must have at least 10 years' experience in the corporate, commercial, banking and real estate areas.

- Must have transactional experience in negotiating and establishing joint ventures and mergers and acquisitions.

- Possess good commercial acumen, and able to provide in depth analysis of legal issues which impacts the business in a clear and concise manner.

- An understanding and proven track-record of implementation of legislative requirements in Malaysia would be an advantage.

- Must be able to work independently. A team player and can work well with other people in the business.

- Agile and ability to work under pressure.

- Possess excellent written and communication skills.
