- Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of agreements with customers, vendors, partners, content providers, agents, distributors, resellers and other third parties, including data licenses, software and intellectual property licenses, and other complex commercial agreements.

- Review RFPs for government customers, identify legal issues and help prepare proposals (including licensing agreements).

- Research and respond to general legal inquiries from in-house clients that relate to matters like local regulatory issues, partnerships, content and software licensing, litigation, privacy, intellectual property, real estate and corporate and compliance matters.

- Lead initiatives designed to streamline contract forms and processes. Work collaboratively with business counterparts to identify opportunities for efficiencies and help implement changes.

- Help develop the Legal Team's knowledge management resources (collaboration space, precedents, contract automation initiatives, etc).

- Participate in compliance initiatives through training and communications.

- Brief external counsel as required.

- Identify ongoing personal training and developmental needs as part of continuous career and professional development.

- Occasional travel on an as needed basis.
- legally qualified in Malaysia and/or other jurisdiction with a minimum 5 years post qualification general corporate/commercial legal experience, with a background in contractual negotiation and drafting (preferably obtained doing legal work for an information company). In-house experience a strong plus.

- International experience and/or time spent at a multi-national corporation preferred.

- Strong negotiation and drafting skills.

- Attention to detail is critical and customer-centricity is a must.

- Ability to work independently, exercise good judgment, and change direction or priorities on short notice.

- Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines.

- commercial awareness, strong communication skills and proactive attitude

- Exposure to cross-border transactions.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word.

- Highly proficient in spoken and written English and Mandarin. Other language skills, a very strong plus.

- Demonstrated ability to interact with and influence senior executive leaders.
